Non-oil Plasma Ignition System

Plasma is the fourth form of matter besides solid, liquid and gas. It has free electrons, positive and negative ions, so it has strong conductivity. It is neutral to the outside and contains a large number of active positive and negative ions of equal quantity. Plasma temperature can reach 4.000-10.000 K;

Plasma Arc can be generated by plasma generator. Plasma generator is a device that uses a stable power supply to ionize the continuously supplied carrier working medium(air) to produce plasma arc, including cathode and anode components.

Arc discharge principle: first set the output current, when the cathode moves forward to contact with the anode, then slowly leave under the drag of the motor, forming an arc between the cathode and the anode.  After the compressed air passes through the arc, it is ionized into a usable high temperature air plasma. Gas discharge is one of the important means to produce plasma

Plasma burner in the coal fired power plant is used for initial firing in the boiler to reach operation temperature. Current technology used oil for firing the coal, and it need a lot of High-Speed Diesel Oil (HSD) for firing the power plant. Normally it takes about 8 to 10 hours before the temperature in the boiler reaches operation temperature.

Plasma on the other hand, replacing the used of HSD for startup. Plasma ignitor will combust the pulverized coal for firing the boiler. Plasma Burner is oil free; it reduces the used of expensive HSD.

Due to oil free, during the startup, the ESP equipment can be operated, reducing particulate emission to the atmosphere.
